About Us!
The Iowa Motor Truck Association was formed in 1942. The
organization was formed because a group of motor carriers felt that Iowa’s
trucking industry needed a voice at the State Capitol. The organization
quickly flourished and has been a respected and recognized association
since its inception.
The association not only is the recognized voice of trucking, it is also a
valued business partner to its members through the variety of membership
benefits that are offered by the association. Currently the Iowa Motor
Truck Association has over 700 member companies and the organization
continues to work on strengthening its foundation by enrolling additional
members.
The Iowa Motor Truck Association is headquartered in Des Moines at the
foot of the State Capitol. In 1996, Iowa’s trucking industry further
illustrated its confidence and leadership by purchasing land at the foot
of the Capitol and constructing a 10,000 square foot office building. The
Iowa Motor Truck Association office building has been heavily utilized by
business groups, legislative leaders and association members. The building
features a 50 seat conference center, a 15 seat board room and a spacious
atrium area that features a beautiful view of the golden dome of the Iowa
State Capitol. The headquarters building is a source of growing pride for
the IMTA membership. |
