Advocacy
IMTA is the voice of the trucking industry and we take this job very seriously. IMTA and its members are always in the forefront of legislative, regulatory and media fights for the benefit of Iowa's trucking industry.

Regulatory Assistance/Hotline
All members are encouraged to call the IMTA with any of their regulatory issues or concerns. IMTA staff attend all regulatory meetings with the DOT, DNR and other state agency groups that impact the trucking industry. IMTA staff members offer assistance and do the legwork necessary to solve your regulatory problems. Don’t ever call the DOT…let IMTA do the work for you.

Safety Auditing Assistance
IMTA has the expertise and the answers to help members with all of their safety issues. IMTA works closely with members to insure that their drug testing programs, driver qualification files and other safety efforts are in compliance with the constantly changing regulations. IMTA also keeps the membership updated on the regulatory changes that will impact your safety operation. IMTA will provide IMTA members with an audit guide in which they can implement a self-audit or for a minimal fee, IMTA will come to your company and conduct a “mini” audit to help you assess and evaluate your safety operation.

Public Relations/Image Consulting Services
IMTA is always available to help members with their public relations efforts and to offer assistance with image campaigns. IMTA works closely with statewide media outlets and helps members to convey a positive image within their communities.

Educational Opportunities
Each month the Iowa Motor Truck Association offers educational sessions that are specifically designed for the trucking industry. Quality seminars are designed with assistance from regulatory agencies to address the ongoing challenges facing the industry. IMTA members are encouraged to participate and take advantage of these high-quality seminars that are held in Des Moines. IMTA’s educational seminars are designed to provide accurate and up-to-date information that you can apply immediately to your operation.

Communications You Can Trust
IMTA has three standard communications tools that all the members get on a regular basis. Because of the constantly changing nature of the trucking industry, an effective communications program is essential to the ongoing success of the association. IMTA is constantly working on the timeliness and effectiveness of its communications efforts.

InfoFlash
Members will receive this abbreviated update on legislative, regulatory and IMTA activities. This tool is extremely valuable in keeping the members informed of the most important and pressing information pertaining to the trucking industry. Of 200 carriers recently polled, 89% of them said that the InfoFlash was something they read loyally and the InfoFlash was their favorite IMTA communication piece..

Iowa Trucking Lifeliner
This four-color magazine is a popular publication that highlights and showcases the many efforts and activities of the association and the membership. For over 50 years, this magazine has been an important part of the Iowa Motor Truck Association and today it still provides the members an opportunity read about the many positive aspects of the association, the members and the trucking industry.
