Being an advocate for the trucking industry reaches beyond the walls of the Iowa State Capitol and visits to Washington, D.C. The Iowa Motor Truck Association prides itself in maintaining outstanding relationships with government agencies – such as the FMCSA and Iowa DOT – while keeping in close communication with current and past legislators each year.

Additionally, the expectations the IMTA has for communicating the efforts put forth on behalf of its membership is also just as important. That is why the association consisting provides information to members and gains their input on issues in which the IMTA may need to create policy positions.

When necessary, the Iowa Motor Truck Association also implements its grassroots strategies to ignite its membership when critical issues are discovered on either the local or national levels.
