David Scott has been a lobbyist in Iowa for the past 25 years, representing a number of business clients and organizations. He is also the owner and president of an association management company.
Scott enjoys an excellent reputation at the Capitol among legislators, as well as lobbyists, and is not perceived as being too closely affiliated with either party. With the changes in the majority party control in Iowa, Scott’s bi-partisan reputation is a valuable asset.
As a testament to Scott’s reputation at the Iowa State Capitol, the Iowa Legislature inducted him into the Pioneer Lawmaker Association five years ago. This organization was founded nearly 125 years ago. Today, legislators who have served over 20 years in the Iowa Legislature are invited into the organization. Scott is currently one of only a handful of lobbyists who currently hold this distinction.
Scott has a bachelor of journalism degree from the University of Missouri, is a graduate of the Association Management Leadership Institute from the University of Delaware and also has the distinction of being a Certified Association Executive (CAE).
