Iowa DOT --- The Iowa DOT has announced a deck overlay project on westbound Interstate 280, in Scott County, beginning August 13.
The I-280 bridge that passes over Interstate 80, which is between Davenport and Walcott, will require alternating lane closures, and is expected to be completed by September 25.
During this project, an 11-foot lane width restriction will be in place as well as a 75-foot length restriction. A reduced speed limit of 45 mph will also be in effect. Wider and longer loads will be required to use I-80 as an alternate route.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limits and other signs in work areas, and to be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least doubled in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
