Deadline Approaching For Input on DOT Driver Employment Application


The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has released an official notice proposing to eliminate 49 CFR 391.21, the requirement that trucking companies obtain a DOT-specific employment application.

The employment application requirements are considered being removed because FMCSA views them as an “administrative, paperwork burden.” Learn more about the proposed rulemaking here.
